Use Carepatron AI Scribe
AI Scribe transcribes the session and turns the transcript into a structured note. You review, sign, and lock. Designed to cut down on admin time per client.
Two paths in, same destination
- Inside a Carepatron Telehealth call: the AI sidebar appears automatically on the right. When the call ends, a note is auto-created on the client's record with the transcript and your chosen template applied.
- In person, or on another video tool: open the client record → New note → open the note wide → Start transcribing. Carepatron records from your selected input, transcribes as you go, and stops when you stop.
Either way you end up with a transcript plus a draft note to review before signing.
Tune the output
Click the settings icon in the AI Scribe panel:
- Default note template: SOAP, DAP, or any custom template you've saved (Lesson 3.5).
- Generated output language: what language the note is written in, regardless of the conversation's language.
- Refer to client / practitioners: how the note names everyone.
- Writing perspective: 1st person, 3rd person, or clinical format.
- Verbosity: concise, standard, detailed, or super detailed.
You can change settings after a transcript is complete. Click Generate note again to re-render.
Ask AI inside the note
Once the note exists, the Ask button at the bottom (next to Transcribe) opens a chat panel that uses the note as context. Ask for what you need: 'summarise this for a discharge letter', 'draft a treatment plan from the goals in the transcript', 'extract the key risks discussed'.
You can also upload PDFs, DOCX, or images (up to 100MB each) as extra context, then insert the response into the note or copy it elsewhere.
Always review before signing
AI output is a draft. Always read it. AI is good at structure and summarisation, but it's not a clinician. Treat the generated note like a junior colleague's first pass: edit for accuracy, add the clinical judgement it couldn't make, then sign and lock.
AI note-taking is included on the Free plan; paid plans add custom workflows and AI automation credits for teams that want automated steps wired around the output.
Four AI prompts you can paste straight in.
Ask AI works best with clear, specific prompts. These are practitioner-tested patterns to start from.
Summarise this note as a discharge letter to the client's GP. Keep clinical, three short paragraphs.
Draft a treatment plan from the goals we discussed across the last three sessions.
What's changed for this client since the first session? Two-paragraph summary, plain language.
Tidy this transcript into a SOAP note. Keep my voice, first person, present tense.
Does AI Scribe work in Carepatron Telehealth?
Yes, the AI sidebar appears on the right of every telehealth call. When the call ends, a note is auto-created on the client's record with the transcript and any template you've applied.
Can I use AI Scribe for in-person or non-Carepatron video sessions?
Yes, open the client's record → New note → widen the note → Start transcribing. Carepatron records audio from your selected input. When the session ends, stop the transcription and the transcript appears.
How accurate is the AI?
It's strong on structure and summarising, but always review the AI output before signing. AI Scribe is a draft assistant, not a substitute for clinical judgement.
Can I delete a transcript?
Yes, open the note → Settings → Delete. You're in control of what's stored on each client's record.
What can I change in the AI Scribe settings?
Default note template, generated output language, how the AI refers to the client and practitioners, writing perspective (1st / 3rd person / clinical), and verbosity (concise, standard, detailed, super detailed). Settings apply when the note is generated; you can re-generate after changing them.
Is AI Scribe HIPAA-compliant?
Yes. Ask AI and AI Scribe are HIPAA-compliant and operate only on the data already in your workspace.
Which plan includes AI features?
AI note-taking is included on every plan, Free included. Paid plans add custom workflows and AI automation credits for teams that want to wire automated steps around the AI output.
